Dear Parents & Caregivers
We are doing a call-out for recycled paper/cardboard boxes as we are running low in the creation station. Boxes of any size are welcome, no toilet paper rolls or plastic containers please, and no need to label any boxes.
The children have been very enthusiastic about using the boxes to create things from their imagination :) Thank you for your support!
Kind regards
The Hillside Team

Dear K2 Parents,
We are excited to arrange an excursion for the K2 children to the Hong Kong Science Museum. The trip is designed to complement their unit of inquiry, "How The World Works." The Science Museum offers a wealth of interactive exhibits that will allow our young learners to explore a variety of scientific concepts and spark their curiosity to think about the world around them.
When?
Tuesday 12 November 2024 for all classes
AM classes: 10am to 12noon
PM classes: 2pm to 4pm
If you arrive late and the class has already gone into the museum, you can grab admission tickets from Hillside staff in the lobby (identified by their red ESF lanyards).
Please note that admission will be covered by the school, your class teacher will hand out the tickets to you when you arrive at the museum.
How do I give permission for my child to attend?
Please access “Go to Gateway” via the ESF App. From there, you will see a “new eNotice to fill in now”, which is your consent form. You must complete this by 31 October in order for your child to attend the excursion.
An adult must attend.
We kindly request that one parent or caregiver accompany each child.
Your presence will offer unique perspectives that align with your child's interests, making the learning even more meaningful and engaging.
How are the children getting there?
Please make your own way to the museum.
Please note there is no parking available.
The address is 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon.
The main entrance is located at the upper piazza and is reached by escalators from the lower piazza.
We will use the museum lobby upon arrival to gather as a class for a briefing before going into the museum.
What does my child need to bring?
Children must wear school uniform and comfortable shoes.
Please bring a water bottle; however, keep in mind that snacks are not allowed in the museum. If necessary, consider bringing some crackers or fruit that can be easily consumed in the museum lobby (re-entry is allowed).
There is no need for your child to bring their school bag as we would like them to be able to freely explore the exhibits.
How can I as a parent support my child during the excursion?
The teachers will be planning a fun activity for you to do with your child at the museum, this will be communicated closer to the date!
Parents can also remind their child to use talking voices, walking feet, and travel on escalators safely.
Please supervise your child at all times.
In case of sickness or accidents, please contact school or museum staff for assistance.
We are so excited about this upcoming excursion and we are certain it will be a positive learning experience for everyone. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
The Hillside Team
