Dear Parents

I'm sure we would all agree that there is nothing better than having the children resume classes back in school. Our priority has always been to maximise the face-to-face learning experience for every child in a safe and positive learning environment.

While the government did not enforce teachers/staff testing, it is one of the criteria for 100% class resumption, along with many other set parameters. From the kind of test lab, type of test to the actual roll-out of the testing (every 14 days), it all takes careful planning and time to sort out. We are now at the stage of anxiously waiting for test results, and once we receive all negative results, then we can move to seek EDB approval.

Hopefully, we will receive EDB approval by Friday to confirm our Monday 15 March 100% class resumption. We will send a final confirmation message as soon as we hear back from EDB.

Bus service will resume as expected, and parents will receive an updated bus schedule before 15 March. Kwoon Chung Motors is also committed to testing the bus helpers/mothers every 14 days.

Here are some warm reminders in preparation for your child's return to school:

• Update the health declaration via ESF App in advance (if you haven’t submitted from 22 Feb 2021).
• Complete daily temperature checks via the ESF App. Children with a temperature of 37.5℃ or above must stay home until symptoms subside and are recommended to take rest for at least two more days before returning to school.
• As recommended by the Centre of Health Protection (CHP), surgical face masks are required at all times on school premises. Please prepare spare masks as children might easily misplace them.
• Snacktime will be optional - if you feel snacking is unnecessary for your child, then there is no need to pack a snack. There is a designated snack area, with dividers set up, on each floor, under the supervision and assistance of school staff. Please also be reminded we're a nut-free school.
• Walkers will be dropped off at the 'walkers' door'.
• If you plan to change your child's going home arrangements, you must inform the bus company and Hillside Admin Team (via the app). You are reminded not to notify the teachers directly as they will be conducting learning during the day.
• Health & Safety 1, 2, 3s: 1) Face masks on at all time; 2) Handwashing between class transitions; 3) Avoid overcrowding. On this note, we have made adjustments to our timetable to limit access in certain play areas. 
• Please ensure to inform us as soon as possible of any absences (via the app).

As previously mentioned, our priority is to maximise safety, wellbeing and learning. We will comply with all social distancing measures and safety protocols following the CHP guidelines.

We are delighted that we will soon be welcoming ALL children back to school!
