Dear Parents

Happy Chinese New Year! Most importantly, I wish everyone a safe and healthy Year of the Tiger!

I'm writing to provide a few quick updates due to the continuation of class suspension. 
Following the government's further tightening of COVID restrictions, ESF has deployed restricted campus access for these next few weeks to encourage social distancing. This will limit the way we work; for example, class zooms will have to take place at home. Please pardon some of our own staff children/pets who might be joining the zooms in the background!

Moving forward, we will continue using a blended approach using both the asynchronous learning slides and the synchronous class zoom times. As the children adjusted to the distance learning routines the last two weeks, our team will review what works and what could be better to tweak the individual class schedules. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about your child's progress and learning. There is no need to wait for a parent-teacher conference or parent surveys. Please reach out to your child's class teacher so that we can work with you to meet your child's needs.

Unfortunately, we will not likely have an opportunity to attend a stage production in the near future with the uncertainties ahead. Therefore, we are in the process of arranging a refund and sorting out the transitions with PayPal to refund the ticket cost to parents. We will let you know once all the transactions have gone through properly in the next week or so. 

We have been liaising with Kwoon Chung (KCM), our outsourced bus company, to discuss the service disruption due to face-to-face class suspension. Given the extension of the suspension period, KCM is exploring a form of refund or fee reduction. Details are to be finalised, but we want to inform parents that we are in discussions with KCM and will keep you all posted as soon as we have any final confirmation. 

We are pleased to tell you that a resource pack is currently being delivered on its way to your home. The pack includes various materials that will support your child's learning, some of which will be used during class Zooms. We would like to kindly request that your resource pack stay sealed until your class teacher opens it together with your child online. Please ensure that any adult supporting your child on Zoom knows of this arrangement. Many thanks for your continued support during this time of distance learning.
