27 May: ESF Transition Day (K2-Y1)
13-16 June: K2 EoY Celebrations (Details below)
24 June - 22 August: Summer Break
Dear Parents
We have lots of fun and exciting things for the remainder of the term. One of the highlights of Term 3 is always our K2 end of year event. With ESF moving towards a "Through-Train Education System", we would like to see this move from K2 to Y1 as part of the transition process. As such, our end of year event will be a Celebration of Learning to commemorate the children's time at Hillside. Please take a look at the section below for more info about this event.
On this note, parents are kindly reminded to confirm your child's negative RAT results (or exemption) and your child's temperature via the ESF app, every school day. All families must complete the RAT update via the ESF App by 8am for morning children and 12noon for afternoon children, as we are required to submit the RAT figures to the Centre of Health Protection.
As per CHP guidelines, incomplete declarations could result in your child being excluded from participating in class activities or sent home. It is vital to adhere to our health and safety protocols to ensure everyone's safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kind regards
Audrey
We are delighted to confirm that parents can join our K2 End of Year Celebration (Graduation) on-site again. We plan for this event to take place in our newly renovated outdoor amphitheatre, and since it's outdoors, we can invite two adults per child to join us. We hope the weather will be kind, but we have a 'rain plan' to move the event indoors. However, we might have to limit the number of guests indoors due to social distancing measures.
Time
Please send your child to school as per usual, so they can have time to get ready in class.
Morning Classes: 9:15-10:15AM
Afternoon Classes: 1:30-2:30PM
Date
Monday 13 June - Turtle Class
Tuesday 14 June - Dragon Class
Wednesday 15 June - Gecko Class
Thursday 16 June - Tiger Class
Important note > All parents are required to complete a RAT test ahead of arriving at the school, where they will be asked to confirm a negative result, their fully vaccinated status and sign in using the LHS app.
We are in the process of reviewing our various methods of keeping parents informed of their child's progress and development throughout the year. To support us in continuing to reflect and improve on our practices, we value your thoughts and feedback. This will help us find a good balance between the various methods of info sharing. We greatly appreciate you giving us some time to fill out this survey. We thank you for your input!
The photo sessions went well for most, except for a few, who were uncomfortable with the lights and setup. Peter will be processing all the individual photos first. Then, once the proofs are ready, we will share a link with you to view them online.
As it is graduation season, Peter's schedule is a bit tight, but he will try to get to proofs to us as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Parents are invited to participate in a 15mins survey that focuses on "parents' understanding of promoting child mental health and wellbeing in early years education". This research is conducted by Chloe Williams, a Masters student from the University of Sutherland, and she is a fellow early childhood educator in Hong Kong.
