Dear Parents
With the fluid COVID-19 situation and growing concerns regarding quarantine requirements, we are reviewing the arrangements for the end of term events. We know that CHP is managing cases of the variant strain of COVID-19 and proactively suspends schools or classes with an upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) outbreak.
We have noticed a number of children coming with runny noses or feeling rundown. Please do keep unwell children at home to rest before it manifests into a full-on URTI. Any school with more than three cases of absence due to illness with 2+ symptoms of URTI/ ILI consecutively over four days could potentially be suspended for up to five school days and compulsory testing for the entire school.
With a few more weeks before the summer, we want these to remain in-person, safe and enjoyable. Let's keep up our healthy habits and amp up our vitamins!
The COVID-19 management situation in Hong Kong is fluid and may be subject to rapid change. We will do our best to keep our community posted on any new developments.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in staying vigilant and keeping our community safe.
Kind regards
Audrey
We have been monitoring the weather forecast closely and we are anticipating more rain next week. With this in mind, we are very pleased to have found an alternative option for our K2 End of Year Celebration.
We have emptied out our resource room on the ground floor (so please excuse the venue), but we can keep to our original plan of two adults per child to join us as we won't access the classrooms or main campus. Again, we ask families to stay in pods and socially distance themselves from other families as much as possible.
A warm reminder all guests are required to:
Be fully vaccinated or has a medical exemption
Confirm a negative RAT result taken on the day of the event via this Google Form. Please show our admin staff the completed page upon arrival.
Use the LeaveHomeSafe App

To support our current K1s moving up to K2s, we are working on a webpage to help the K1 children prepare for their new K2 experience. We are also planning an opportunity for the K1 to meet their new K2 teachers and friends. As well as visit their new classroom before the summer. More details are coming soon.
Given the disruptive school year, we'll try our best to keep the clusters together as much as possible, but please note it's not guaranteed as we have to consider other factors to balance out the class lists.
One question that kept arising regarding Y1 transition application was address and zoning. K2 transitioning to Y1 are processed according to current residential address at the time of application in September. Any change of residential address following submission of application and prior to entry to Y1 will not be considered. Hence current K1 families need to ensure their residential address on Gateway is correct. If you have moved, a change request on Gateway is required, with the proper two address proof documents verified on the school level. We are taking steps to be more sustainable as a school. As such, we would like to provide a forum for interested parents to donate or purchase preloved uniform items at a nominal price. All proceeds will contribute to enhancing our new playground.
This is not limited to only Hillside uniforms; any preloved ESF primary school uniforms are also welcome as we feed into all five ESF HK island primary schools. Any unsold uniforms will be used as a backup change of clothes at school or role-play in the "primary school" dress-up corner.
If you are interested in donating, please send the preloved kindergarten or primary school uniform items to Hillside any time from now onwards.
If you are interested in purchasing, please visit Hillside on 21 & 22 June. More details are on the attached flyer.
