Dear Hillside Families
We are grateful for your continued support and collaboration in our shared goal of providing the best possible learning experience for your children. Your participation in the recent parent survey has provided valuable insights and perspectives into your experiences and expectations.
Here are a few key headlines from the survey.
First and foremost, we want to acknowledge and celebrate the areas where we have received positive feedback.
What are we doing well?
In addition to acknowledging our achievements, we will reflect on feedback and suggestions on the areas where we can improve.
What can we do better?
Our current feedback model includes a combination of written communication and face-to-face opportunities. As a follow-up, we invite interested parents to share a bit more with us. Your input will help us find a good balance between the various methods of info sharing. It's a very short survey (5 minutes) but focusing on feedback. We greatly appreciate your time to fill out this survey.
Your child's development is important to us, and we believe that open communication is key. As we move into Term 3, here is a reminder of how we keep all parents informed of children’s progress.
Once again, we express our gratitude for your unwavering support. We thank you again for your input!
Warm regards
Audrey
Your child's How the World Works Unit of Inquiry report is now available for viewing. Please refer to the graphics below to access your child's report. When viewing the report, we invite those parents interested in contributing by adding your comment in the "parent response to learning" box.
We are delighted to invite parents to join our K2 End-of-Year Celebration of Learning, which will be held on 14 June at Hillside for all classes. The children learnt new skills, made new friends, and grown in so many ways, and we are proud of all that they have accomplished. We look forward to celebrating with you and your child on this special day!
Please note the following details:
To minimise the interruption to our regular programme, the celebration ceremonies will take place for all classes on Friday, 14 June.
It is not a normal full session school day, please note your time slot below.
It will take place at Hillside in two of the K2 classrooms.
Children should wear the Hillside Uniform for this event.
Due to space and seating limitations, it would be appreciated if each child were accompanied by only (2) adult family members for this event.
Please be reminded that we are unable to provide parking.
We appreciate that your child cannot catch the school bus for one of the journeys (to OR from school); however, we ask for your understanding and assistance on this exceptional occasion.
As it is a specially arranged day, children and parents will only attend during their allocated celebration time. Please note your session below.

We are committed to maintaining a vigilant approach against disease and promoting personal and environmental hygiene in our school. Our focus is on instilling good hygiene practices amongst the children to minimise the risk of potential outbreaks.
While we acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of those who wear face masks to protect others, we take into consideration the age and ability of our young children to manage masks effectively. Moreover, wearing masks can hinder speech development as young learners struggle to imitate teachers' mouth movements. Therefore, if a child is unwell, we kindly request that they be kept at home to rest and recover. This approach prioritises their health and prevents the spread of illnesses to teachers and classmates.
We understand that wearing masks can help prevent the spread of illness, but it should not be seen as a substitute for staying home when sick. If a child is feeling unwell, it is crucial that they stay home to rest and recover. Sending a sick child to school while wearing a mask can increase the risk of spreading illness to others, including teachers and classmates. Therefore, we have implemented a policy where children with symptoms such as a fever, runny nose, or continuous cough will be sent home. These procedures are designed to protect everyone in our school community. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and support in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all.
