13-15 August: PTCs + Orientation Activities
18 August: First Official Day of School
Dear Hillside Families,
As we reach the end of the school year, I want to share a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the entire Hillside team. Your wonderful support and partnership in your child's learning journey have made a real difference this year, and we are so grateful.
It has been heartwarming to see so much joy and laughter these last few weeks. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch them grow and learn, and we want to thank them for being such superstars!
Our Hillside community is truly special. I have been particularly touched by the kind words from parents about their child’s experience with us. This strong partnership between home and school is so important, and it shows in the wonderful progress the children have made. Your support and trust mean the world to our dedicated team.
I also want to express my deepest thanks to the entire Hillside staff for their hard work and professionalism. A special thank you must go to our unsung heroes – our amazing admin team and cleaners. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to support all of us, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.
Thank you, once again, for being such a wonderful part of our community. We wish you all a fantastic summer filled with joy, relaxation, and special moments with your loved ones.
Warm regards,
Audrey
Thank you to parents and caregivers who joined us for the webinar today to learn more about how you can promote healthy technology habits and effectively manage your child’s device use over the summer. You can review the topics covered:
Online portal - including today’s webinar slides, practical tools, how-to-videos
We value your thoughts and feedback and would greatly appreciate you giving us some time to fill out this survey. Your input will help us plan future parent sessions.
Your child's end-of-year reports are now available for viewing via the ESF app (K1 Who We Are & How We Express Ourselves; K2 How We Express Ourselves). It is important to note that learning is not locked in one point, one year or a particular age but is an ongoing continuum based on the child's readiness and progress rather than a date. All teachers between different year levels strongly believe in meeting the children where they are, both academically and social-emotionally, supporting the children in their next phase of learning. We also invite those parents interested in contributing to the report by adding your comment in the "parent response to learning" box. At the bottom of each report, you can click on the “Download as PDF” button to keep a copy; this function will be available until the end of July. Please contact the office at kinder@hillside.edu.hk if you have any difficulties.
The first official school day for K2 will be Monday, 18 August. We'll have some welcome events the week before.
Getting Ready for August: Key Dates
We want to help everyone prepare for the new school year. Here are some important dates for August:
We are finalising the K2 Induction site and will share it with you shortly. Please refer to the site for teacher info, general schedule, and access stories/ videos to prepare for the start of school. Here's the school calendar for school term dates.
After the summer break, the ESF Admissions Team will share information on the 2025-26 Y1 transition process. Once we have information for the new academic year, we will share it with parents in due course. Please refer to our Y1 Transition Page for more information.
We will send out details for PTC sign-ups and Meet & Greet shortly. Thank you for your patience.
If you drive your children to school, please remember to avoid double-parking, blocking traffic, or parking in front of the school exit gates. Adhering to parking etiquette is essential in maintaining a safe environment for all, especially in a school zone. Your cooperation in keeping our children safe is greatly appreciated, and we thank you for your attention to this matter.
We are very excited for our Water Fun Day tomorrow to celebrate the last day of term! We know the weather forecast doesn't look perfect, but we are planning to go ahead with a day of fun. The children are all very excited, and we don't want to disappoint! We will watch the weather closely and adjust our plans if needed.
What to Bring and Wear:
Please do not buy new water toys or soakers if you don’t have them at home, we have some at school.
As we prepare for the new school year and our new IT system, we need to update the ESF App. This means all users will be logged out over the summer.
Please download your child’s school reports and any photos from the class albums before 31 July 2025.
Your child’s end-of-year report will be available soon, and we will send a reminder when it is ready. When you read the report, we invite you to add a comment in the "parent response to learning" box.
