28 May: ESF Wide Transition Day
2 June: Hillside Parent Webinar: Exploring the impact of COVID-19 on the socio-emotional development of children
29 June: Last Day of School
We hope your week has started well. It seems CHP has raised the bar yet again - the latest update is CHP intervention for any school with more than three cases of absence due to illness with 2+ symptoms of URTI/ ILI consecutively over 4 days. This could potentially be suspension of classes for up to five school days and compulsory testing for the entire school. Every effort keeps us one big step ahead, including the daily temperature recording, before setting off for school. Let’s keep up our healthy habits and amp up our vitamins!!
We need your help!
We are in the process of reviewing our various methods of keeping parents informed of their child's progress and development throughout the school year. To support us in continuing to reflect and improve on our practices, we value your thoughts and feedback. This will help us find a good balance between the various methods of info sharing. We greatly appreciate you giving some time to fill out this survey. We promise this will be the last survey for the academic year!
As always, thank you for your support!
Audrey and the Hillside Team
We have scheduled Peter Inglis, a professional photographer, to come on 25-26 May to take photos of the children in school. We have worked with Peter in the past, and he has been fantastic with the children. Peter has a selection of puppets and tricks, along with lots of patience to make the children smile. The children are now developing their confidence and characters; I’m sure there will be many fun sessions throughout the day.
Four classes are scheduled for each day:
Tuesday 25 May - Dolphin, Frog, Tiger, Turtle
Wednesday 26 May - Panda, Monkey, Dragon, Gecko
Due to the pandemic, Peter will only be taking photographs of individual children and siblings. We will ask for a collage format for class photos.
Please note each child will have their face mask off momentarily for their individual photoshoot. Everyone else around will be keeping their face masks on throughout the whole time. Please inform your child’s class teacher in advance if you DO NOT wish for your child to participate in the photoshoot.
Smoother traffic especially during afternoon arrival time is a shared goal among parents and between Hillside and sister school Bradbury. Calling upon all drivers and parent drivers to observe good road courtesy, to avoid parking in front of the Hillside and Bradbury gates, and to park briefly at the sidewalks.
As always, we thank you for your cooperation!
