Dear Parents
We’ve received a CHP circular informing us more schools had to suspend classes due to upper respiratory tract infection (URTI). Please keep unwell children at home to rest before it manifests into a full-on URTI. Any school with more than three cases of absence due to illness with 2+ symptoms of URTI/ ILI consecutively over four days could potentially be suspended for up to five school days and compulsory testing for the entire school.
We have noticed a number of children coming with runny noses, please do allow children the time to rest if they are starting to show symptom(s) or feeling rundown. We want to ensure in school learning continues, so we need your cooperation and support in staying vigilant and keeping our community safe.
Let’s keep up our healthy habits and amp up our vitamins!!
Kind regards
Audrey
The upcoming K1 Parent-Teacher Conferences is now available for sign-up. Please make an appointment via the app at your earliest convenience to secure a time to meet with your child’s teacher.
Frog & Panda Class - 25, 27 October
Dolphin & Monkey Class - 26, 28 October
Please note classes will continue as per normal throughout the PTC weeks. The appointments are about 10-15 minutes long for each child. Please appreciate that these are the dates when we have arranged cover for teachers and we would like to keep to them as much as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us on 2540-0066.
The weather has been a bit unpredictable changing between the sun and rain over last week. For a few days in a row, the children were playing outside but then had to be rushed inside due to the sudden rain. With the unpredictable weather, please take note of our inclement weather arrangements.
On those very wet days, we will have to change some of our pick-up or drop-off routines to keep everyone dry (or as dry as possible). We will be using the main foyer for pick-up or drop-off during heavy rain.
You might also consider purchasing a school raincoat that is designed to keep your child’s school bag dry too.
On this note, please be informed that there is now a new sun hat option. Members of our community expressed an interest in having a 'baseball cap' style sun hat for outdoor play, and we have managed to ask our supplier to make this available. For a full list of all uniform items, prices, or to place an order, please visit their website [Web Link]
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have a forum for interested parents to connect and recycle their uniform items. If you are interested in buying, selling or giveaway second-hand uniforms, please leave a post HERE to connect with other parents.
The Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) announced the new Student Grant Scheme for 2021/22. The government's Student Grant Scheme applies to every student attending a Secondary, Primary, or Kindergarten school in Hong Kong, making them eligible for a HK$2,500 grant payment. This scheme applies to ESF and all of our schools. For details on how to apply, please refer to the App message sent on 23 September, titled: HK Government Student Grant Scheme of HK$2,500 (2021/22 School year).
Once the form is completed and signed, submit the original copy of the completed form to Hillside by Friday, 29 October 2021. **If you are returning the completed form via your child's school bag, please send a message to let us know, as it can easily be missed.**
