Dear Parents
As we head into December, we have a very busy few weeks ahead. Please take a few minutes to read through this newsletter and take note of the upcoming events.
Firstly, thank you for all your flexibility with the "circuit breaker" arrangements. All school arrangements will resume back to normal starting this week - i.e. storytellers/ visitors, library books...etc
To our K2 families, ESF Y1 offer packages will be sent out today (Monday 29 November) by the ESF Centre team. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Kind regards
Audrey
You should have received a message regarding the information on ordering tickets for the theatre production of “Tabby McTat!” If you haven't yet, please complete the eNotice and order your tickets before Friday 3 December to secure your seats.
We cordially invite all parents to join us at our Hillside Winter Family Picnic on Thursday, 16 December. The fun starts with everyone gathered by your class picnic area for a quick greeting. Your class teacher will provide you with a set of instructions to go on a treasure hunt along the beach. After that everyone can return back to their class picnic area to socialise and spread some holiday cheer.
The timings are 9:30-11:30am (morning classes) and 12:30-2:30pm (afternoon classes). We will meet all families directly at Repulse Bay beach. There will be no classes at the Kindergarten on this day, and please note the school buses will not operate. Please wear your choice of Christmas colours and don’t forget to bring your bucket and spades and a picnic mat to relax on!
We will be send a detailed reminder closer to the date. Looking forward to seeing you all!
It has been a Hillside tradition to foster the spirit of giving every Christmas. Not only does this tradition create a connection with our learning community, but it also transfers our learning into an “action.”
Action is an integral part of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and an opportunity for children to make a meaningful contribution to their community and also be change-makers.
We would like to take action and give back to our local community by supporting Rebooked, a non-profit social enterprise founded and managed by students! Their goal is to extend the shelf life of a book by providing a convenient and eco-friendly platform for books to be reused and enjoyed by other young readers. The books are also shared with NGOs and community partners as a way to support early literacy for underprivileged children.
Building on our sustainability principles, please donate slightly used pre-loved books to bring joy to a new reader. If you’re interested in purchasing, please head over to Rebooked. Our Christmas appeal will run until Wednesday 15 December. We encourage the children to personally place the books in our collection boxes under our Christmas tree at reception.
