Dear Parents

Happy New Year! A new year. A new term. We wish you and yours a happy and healthy 2022! 

To start off the year, we thank our wonderful Hillside community for supporting our Christmas Appeal - Rebooked. It has been a Hillside tradition to foster the spirit of giving every Christmas. Not only does this tradition create a connection with our learning community, but it also transfers our learning into an “action.” We saved three huge boxes of pre-loved books from going to waste and will surely be enjoyed by more young readers. THANK YOU!

You will be aware that several compulsory test notices (CTN) have been issued over the last few days, with the most recent CTN signalling a change in the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) protocols for COVID testing (multiple tests over a period of up to 14 days). This is in direct response to the increasing threat of local transmission of the Omicron Variant within Hong Kong.

A kind reminder that if your child is subjected to a Compulsory Testing Notice for COVID-19, your child must stay off from school until they receive a negative test result. If this is the case, please contact us via the App or kinder@hillside.edu.hk to confirm the situation and keep us updated on the test result.

The COVID management situation in Hong Kong is fluid and may be subject to rapid change. We will do our best to keep our community posted on any new developments. 

We thank you for your cooperation and support in staying vigilant and keeping our community safe. In addition, please keep unwell children at home to rest before it manifests into a full-blown URTI. Let’s keep up our healthy habits!!

The Term 2 sign-up for Parent Storyteller is now open! To support children's international-mindedness and language development, we welcome you to choose a story in your mother tongue if you wish! Stories are so powerful as they act as both mirrors (reflecting children's own experiences) and doors (where new ideas widen children's knowledge and understandings) to the world.

All Parent Storyteller must be fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID test result valid within three days (as per new EDB guidelines).
