Dear Hillside Families
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support during our recent K1 Arts Shared Learning days last week and the K2 Celebration of Learning Ceremony yesterday. Your presence and participation in these events truly made a difference in our children's learning experience.
Seeing your children proudly showcasing their learning and achievements was a true joy for all of us. Thank you to all the parents for joining these special events. Not only does it mean a lot to the children, but also to our teachers. It has been such a pleasure and privilege.
Working together in partnership, we have been able to provide a joyful and enriching learning experience for your children. Thank you!
I know many classes have been busy preparing for their end-of-year celebrations, and I hope the children will have a memorable last few weeks of school filled with joy and laughter. Please take note of the Water Fun Day details below, and also, it will be a dress-down party day on 29 June for the children's end-of-year party.
Warm regards
Audrey
As the school year is coming to an end, and with the weather getting hotter each day, we have planned a Water Fun Day for the children to have some summer fun together. We are very excited to bring back this popular pre-covid event with various water activities in our outdoor area where the children can have a dip n’ splash. There will also be some indoor activities for those who prefer to stay dry.
Please have your child wear their swimmers, don’t forget waterproof sunscreen in advance, and wear trainers on this day. Please also pack a towel, a change of clothes and shoes on this exciting day. All must be clearly labelled and packed in a waterproof bag. Get ready for a day filled with fun and frolic!
We are taking steps to be more sustainable as a school. As such, we would like to provide a forum for interested parents to donate and purchase preloved uniform items at a nominal price. All proceeds will go to enhancing our music programme for the children.
If you are interested in purchasing, please visit Hillside on 23, 26, 27 June. More details on the attached flyer.
Your child's end-of-year report will soon be available. We will send another reminder once it's live online. It is important to note that learning is not locked in one point, one year or a particular age but is an ongoing continuum based on the child's readiness and progress rather than a date. All teachers between different year levels strongly believe in meeting the children where they are, both academically and social-emotionally, supporting the children in their next phase of learning. We also invite those parents interested in contributing to the report by adding your comment in the "parent response to learning" box.
You can also access your child's portfolio piece through the ESF app, which showcases your child's role in their learning. You may also access the e-portfolio from a desktop to download all your children's work. You can click on the little "document symbol" to download your child’s portfolio or reports. Please contact the office at kinder@hillside.edu.hk if you have any difficulties.
