Dear Hillside Families

It was wonderful to welcome the K2 children back today and greet some K1 children for the first time. 

We hope the initial 1:1 parent-teacher meetings and parent welcome zooms were beneficial and clarified some of your questions. We decided to incorporate these positive elements into our new start-of-year schedule based on the feedback from last year, but we will also reflect on the arrangements from this year.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about your child's progress and learning. There is no need to wait for a formal parent-teacher conference or parent surveys. Reach out to your child's class teacher so that we can work with you to meet your child's needs.

A quick reminder, if you drive your children to school, please do not park in front of the Hillside or Bradbury exit gates. Please keep in mind parking etiquette and that we are in a school zone. Be swift, and no unnecessary honking. Parking will always be problematic, given our location and limitations on Stubbs Road, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation with this request.

K1 walkers will be collected in the foyer. Please note that the little ones will take longer at the start of the school year, so we will commence the dismissal process slightly earlier and bring the children down class by class. We request your patience and to follow our staff's instructions. 

Please also be reminded to show your child's digital pick-up card (sample attached) at pick-up time as our staff are still learning to recognise all the families. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Tuesday, 5 September, 4:15pm

We cordially invite K2 parents who would like to meet their child’s teacher to come to Hillside on Tuesday, 5 September, to say hello and see their child’s classroom from 4.15-5.00pm. We look forward to seeing you!

Please note - this “meet and greet” session is intended to serve as an informal opportunity for parents to meet your child’s new teacher and see the K2 floor shared learning spaces. It is not intended to be a time to discuss your child’s progress formally. Parents are not required to make an appointment for the meet-and-greet session. For those that cannot join us, class teachers will share the slides with you afterwards via the class blog.
