Dear Hillside Families

It's hard to believe that it's December already! Firstly, thank those families who have already contributed to our Christmas Appeal. It is easy to get caught up in "getting gifts" during the holiday season, yet we all know it can be much more meaningful to focus on "giving gifts" - the gift of KINDNESS! Our children will learn first-hand that even a small gesture can have a positive impact. But, more importantly, the children will feel great knowing they are contributing to the happiness of others.

Please be reminded of our Winter Picnic at Repulse Bay on this Friday, 8 December. If you haven't yet, please take a moment to complete the eNotice to confirm your attendance. We look forward to a fun day with a scavenger hunt and picnic at the beach.

The weather forecast is cloudy with sunny intervals. A decision will be made by Thursday morning to decide if the weather is unfavourable (too wet and too cold). 

If the trip is cancelled, it will be a normal school day, and school buses will run as usual. 

The District Council elections will take place on Sunday, December 10. As a result, EDB has notified us that all schools in Hong Kong should be closed on the following day: Monday December 11. This impacts all of our schools, whether they have been selected as a polling station or not. We have therefore added this date as an additional holiday day to the ESF calendar.

We would like to invite all children to come dressed in festive or casual clothing on Wednesday, 13 December. We will be engaging in various activities related to the holidays leading up to the winter break, stay tuned to the class blog to learn more!

Like every big organisation, ESF has a number of policies and guidelines in place to help ensure that we are working efficiently, effectively and are consistent in how we go about our business. You can now access a page within the ESF App that allows you to view some of those policies – particularly the ones that are most relevant to you as an ESF parent. To access the policy page, just look for this icon within the Hillside VLE Hub.

Do you love music? Do you want to welcome in the Christmas spirit with some choir singing? If yes, then you are in luck! The ESF Beacon Hill Senior Choir has been singing Christmas tunes for a few weeks now and is ready to perform. If you're in the area, be sure to drop by and sing a few tunes!
