Happy Lunar New Year! Kung Hei Fat Choi! Most importantly, I wish everyone a safe and healthy Year of the Dragon!
Thank you, everyone, for joining us on 8 February for a fun and memorable Sports day! We were incredibly fortunate with the weather in the end, and there were lots of smiling faces and loud cheers at all the stations!
Thank you so much to all our Class Parents for supporting your class and sending out reminders about these important events.
We want to give a special shout-out to one of our class parents, Katie Etchells-Bailey (Gecko AM), for her incredible effort in organising Sports Day. Her dedication and hard work in finding a great venue made the event a huge success. We are truly grateful for the support.
Warm regards
Audrey
The children are currently inquiring into the unit “How the World Works”, with the central idea centred around scientific investigations and coming up with theories about how things work. To support their understanding of these concepts and nurture their research skills, we have planned an incursion with Curiosity Kids. The children will engage in a ‘science lab’ at school, exploring colour science and investigating bubbles!
Monday, 4 March - Frog
Tuesday, 5 March - Dolphin
Wednesday, 6 March - Monkey
Thursday, 7 March - Panda
We have scheduled Peter Inglis, a professional photographer, to come on 12-13 March to take photos of children in school. We have worked with Peter in the past, and he has been fantastic with the children. Peter has a selection of puppets and tricks and lots of patience to make the children smile. The children are now developing their confidence and personalities; I’m sure we will hear lots of giggles throughout the day.
Peter will be taking photographs of individual children, siblings and class groups. Please note that some children might feel uncomfortable in this situation, so we will not force them to be photographed against their wishes.
When available, you will be able to view the proofs online. More details will follow. There is no obligation to purchase.
We are excited to announce an upcoming webinar for ESF parents and families: Lights Out, Sweet Dreams: a Practical Webinar on Sleep for Parents and Caregivers.
In this webinar, we will explore the fascinating world of sleep science and provide valuable insights into understanding sleep needs across different ages. ESF Educational Psychologists Dr Rachael Edwards and Dr Steff Ho will share practical strategies to promote healthier and more restful sleep for children, young people and families. Better sleep leads to better physical and mental health, increased focus, and improved academic outcomes. We want to highlight the importance of sleep in supporting your child to be the best that they can be.
Date and Time: Thursday, 14 March, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
