Dear Hillside Families

With a few weeks before the end of the term, we have some updates to share with our Hillside families.

On behalf of everyone at Hillside, we wish our colleagues who are leaving all the best and a happy farewell. We are saying goodbye to:

• CJ De Guzman (Assistant Administrator)
• Yvonne Cheng (Learning Enhancement Team)

Both of them will be leaving Hillside to embark on new adventures, whether relocating or pursuing new opportunities. We are truly grateful to have had them as part of our community, and we will sorely miss all these wonderful people. Please join us in wishing them the best in the next chapter of their lives.

We also have Patsy Ng (Monkey Class EA), who will change her role from full-time to a more flexible arrangement to support her health. We wish Patsy all the best and will continue to support her as she rebuilds her strength.

Remember, the K2 celebration of learning is coming up this Friday. Let's celebrate the hard work and achievements of our children together! We want to thank all our families for their continued partnership and support. Your involvement and dedication to our school community are truly appreciated.

As the school year is coming to an end and the weather is getting hotter each day, we have planned a Water Fun Day for the children to have some summer fun together. We are very excited to bring back this popular event with various water activities in our outdoor area, where the children can have a dip and splash. There will also be some indoor activities for those who prefer to stay dry.

Please have your child wear their swimmers and swimming goggles. Don't forget waterproof sunscreen in advance, and wear trainers on this day.  Please also pack a towel, a change of clothes and shoes on this exciting day. All must be clearly labelled and packed in a waterproof bag. Get ready for a day filled with fun and frolic!

We are taking steps to be more sustainable as a school. As such, we would like to provide a forum for interested parents to donate and purchase preloved uniform items at a nominal price. All proceeds will go to enhancing our incursion provision for the children.

If you are interested in donating, please send the preloved uniform items to the school any time from now onwards. K1 families can visit our pop-up store at Hillside on 19 & 26 June. K2 families, please bring along any donations this Friday when you come for the Celebration of Learning.

As we approach the end of the academic year, we would like to inform you about an essential process in the ESF App. As part of our annual rollover process, we will log all users out of the app to ensure data security and maintain accurate records.

Key Points:

• Annual Rollover: The annual rollover is a standard procedure for updating user accounts, reviewing permissions, and ensuring that our systems are up-to-date. This process helps us maintain the integrity of our communication channels.
• Data Security Measures: We take data security seriously. By logging everyone out, we can verify account details, remove any inactive or outdated profiles, and enhance overall security. Rest assured that your data remains confidential and protected.
• Downloading Reports: If you are transitioning from one ESF school to another or are leaving the ESF community, you are requested to download your child/children's reports on or before 31 July 2024.

What To Expect:

• Auto Log Out: On Monday, 5 August 2024 we will be logging out all parents, staff and students from the ESF App.
• Re-login: You can log back in using your registered email address on or after 6 August. If you encounter any issues, your school IT support team will be available to assist you.

Your child's end-of-year report will soon be available. We will send another reminder once it's live online. It is important to note that learning is not locked in one point, one year or a particular age but is an ongoing continuum based on the child's readiness and progress rather than a date. All teachers between different year levels strongly believe in meeting the children where they are, academically and socially-emotionally, supporting them in their next learning phase. We also invite those parents interested in contributing to the report by adding your comment in the "parent response to learning" box.

This is also a warm reminder to download your child's photos from the class albums before they are archived over the summer. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain a secure and efficient communication platform for our school communities.
