Dear Hillside Families
I can't believe we are halfway through Term 1 already. Thanks to everyone for helping us have a great first-half term at Hillside. As you walk around the kindergarten, you feel a very positive vibe, and the children have settled extremely well into their routines. I have enjoyed getting to know the children in the past two months and look forward to getting to know you all through the various parent events we offer throughout the year. On this note, please take note of the few upcoming dates (Thursday, 31 October), which will be a Dress-up Day (not necessarily Halloween-related).
I would also like to thank all of our staff for working so hard to create a stimulating and welcoming learning environment for the children. We are unwavering in our commitment to working collaboratively with the children, parents, and staff to achieve the ESF and Hillside shared vision strives for "every child to be the best that they can be," fostering a nurturing environment where children are safe, kind, happy, engaged, and eager to learn.
Warm regards
Audrey
As we enter the second half of the term and the children have settled into their routines, we would like to remind you of a few important policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone. Please help us remind all adults who might drop-off or collect the children. Please also remember to have your child's digital pick-up card readily on hand, as our staff might not recognise all the family members.
Filming or Photographing: We request adults to refrain from filming or photographing at the front door during drop-off and pick-up times. This policy is in place to protect our children, as some may inadvertently appear in the background without their consent. Some adults may not be aware of other children lining up behind them during drop-off. To maintain a safe environment, we kindly ask that adults refrain from using their phones to film or take photos on school premises.
Parking Etiquette: If you drive your children to school, please do not double-park, block the traffic or park in front of the Hillside/ Bradbury exit gates. Remember to adhere to parking etiquette, as we are in a school zone. Be swift and avoid unnecessary honking. Parking can be challenging due to our location and the limitations on Stubbs Road, and we appreciate your cooperation with this request.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines, as they are essential for maintaining a secure and respectful environment for all children. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Date: 30 Oct Wednesday @ 1pm (both K1 & K2)
We would like all parents who are keen to get involved and engage with their child's learning in person at school to attend this webinar. Join our PYP Coordinator, Brenda, as she walks through what to expect from a parent participation experience this year, and how to sign up.

Volunteers have a significant role to play in any school setting. They bring expertise, enthusiasm and fresh faces to the programme.
At Hillside, we welcome ALL the children's 'important adults/carers' to join our parent participation opportunities (i.e. parents, grandparents, helpers). These participation opportunities could include:
We will be introducing these various opportunities throughout the term. If you would like to become a parent volunteer, please CLICK HERE to read this important Parent Volunteer Guidance and log in to ESF Gateway to complete all relevant declaration forms.
