Dear Hillside Families
We are delighted to have parents back on campus as part of our Parent Participation programme. It was lovely to see new parents joining in as storytellers and parent experts earlier, and we look forward to engaging with families in different ways.
Thank you to all the parent participants for supporting our programme and enhancing the children's learning experience. On this note, we will soon kick off our Class Parent initiative. We will soon meet with the designated class parents to discuss this initiative, so watch this space as your designated Class Parent(s) will get in touch soon.
We are also planning our annual Hillside Winter Family Event on Wednesday, 11 December. This community event is intended for families to come together and spread some holiday cheer. Please save this date - more details will follow soon!
Warm regards
Audrey
We are delighted to invite parents to join our first Shared Learning Day, which will be held on 29 Nov at Hillside for all classes. This will be an opportunity for you to join in your child’s learning as part of their current unit Sharing the Planet. Please take note of the following details:
It is not a normal full-session school day. Families are invited for a 45-minute session. Sign-up sheets to follow.
We invite up to 2 grown-ups (parents and caregivers welcome!) to accompany their child to the shared learning day.
Non-uniform/casual dress: Children are welcome to wear their own clothes to school, but no costumes or character dress-ups please.
Please be reminded that we are unable to provide parking.
There will be no bus service on that day, we ask for your understanding and assistance on this exceptional occasion.
We look forward to the children sharing their learning with you on this special day!
We're thrilled to invite you to a Family Event on Wednesday, 11 December. It's the last day of school, so we hope to share some festive cheer before breaking off for the holidays.
Stay tuned for more information, including the picnic schedule and specific details about activities and surprises that await you. An official invitation with all the necessary information will be sent to you soon.
Praise is a vital tool that helps your child understand positive behaviours and build self-efficacy. While many parents and carers are adept at giving unlabelled praise, using labelled or specific praise is even more effective. Here's why:
Reinforces Positive Behaviour:
Improves Communication:
Builds Self-Efficacy:
By incorporating labelled praise into your interactions, you can create a nurturing environment where your child flourishes and develops into a confident, responsible individual.
