Dear Hillside Families
We hope you enjoyed the time together at the beach picnic today and had a chance to connect with other families. Thank you to all the parents who supported our Bake Sale at the beach picnic. All proceeds will enhance the children's excursions and learning experiences (e.g., paying for a Chinese Puppetry Show or the sports day venue in February - watch this space!)
It's hard to believe that it's the end of term! I want to thank the incredible team here at Hillside for the first term. I am always grateful for their continued dedication and professionalism, but most importantly, the team has consistently put the needs of children first and has continued to put our children at the centre of all we do.
Thanks again to all the parents who supported us in different ways this term. Your contributions are invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for the support and communication we have continued to receive from our parent community.
We wish you all a joyous winter break and a happy 2025!
Warm regards
Audrey
Your child's Sharing the Planet Unit of Inquiry report is now available for viewing. Please refer to the graphics below to access your child's report. When viewing the report, we invite those parents interested in contributing by adding your comment in the "parent response to learning" box.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we are now seeking parent volunteers to support Open Play learning engagements. You will be helping children with following instructions and supporting their play in art, music & movement; there will also be a staff member with you to facilitate the learning. We kindly request that parents who sign up to volunteer adhere to their assigned station during Open Play. This will ensure consistent supervision and facilitation of learning opportunities for all children. While we understand the desire to spend time with your child, there will be other opportunities throughout next term to engage individually with your child.
If you're interested, please sign up under your class using the following links:
Please note the call-out sign-up sheets are open until 15 January.
The joy of the festive season was the inspiration for ESF Sha Tin Junior School student Colette Lee, who created the wonderful design of this year's ESF Christmas card.
Her painting was selected by ESF Chief Executive Officer Belinda Greer as part of our annual ESF-wide art challenge and shows a festively decorated home, which Colette says is "a warm and welcoming place, just like our school."
"Her artwork beautifully embodies the spirit of Christmas and reflects the sense of belonging which is at the heart of our ESF community," says Belinda. "Congratulations to Colette and to all our talented students who participated in this year's art challenge."
We hope you'll enjoy spreading some festive cheer with this heart-warming e-card, which can be downloaded from our ESF website.
