Dear Hillside Families
We are excited to share that we are now active on social media! We encourage all family members and carers to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. These platforms will keep you connected with the latest news, events, and delightful snapshots of our learning experiences. We'll be using them to share reminders and updates, such as stories for special events like Dress-up Day and Sports Day.
Speaking of events, we are all set for Sports Fun Day this Friday, and the weather looks promising! Let's hope it stays in our favour. If we do encounter heavy rain in the morning, we will inform all families via the App messaging system. In the event of cancellation, please note that it will be a normal school day, and the school buses will run as usual.
A gentle reminder that we will meet all families directly at the Indian Recreation Club, so please make your own way to the venue. We're looking forward to a wonderful community day filled with fun activities and games. The children have been practising diligently and will be well-prepared for the event. Event details are in teh section below and also pinned in your App message.
Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to see you at Sports Fun Day!
Warm regards
Audrey
We would like to provide K2 parents with a Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) opportunity to meet with your child’s Chinese teacher, either Yammi Lao Shi or Joey Lao Shi. You will have a choice of 2 Fridays.

Zoom appointments are about 10 minutes long for each child. Please appreciate that these are the dates when we have arranged cover for teachers, and we would like to keep to them as much as possible.
K1 Chinese PTCs will take place in Term 3.We’re excited to announce that we will be joining forces with Bradbury School to celebrate Rare Disease Day on 28 February! As some of you may know, one of our K2 PE teachers, Mr Maclay’s daughter, Freya, is living with a rare condition called Tay Sachs, and we want to show our support by coming together as a community.
To join in the fun, we encourage all children to dress in “Bright and Striped” clothes! Our rare disease mascot is a zebra, and its slogan is “Share Your Colours!” Let’s fill the school with vibrant stripes to show our solidarity and raise awareness. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about empathy and understanding while having a lot of fun.
Thank you for your support, and please remember to send your child in ‘bright & striped’ attire!

What to bring:
ESF values opportunities to engage with parents on issues impacting the ESF experience. While we usually aim to resolve issues directly at the school level, we understand that sometimes concerns may require more complex or higher-level resolution. In these cases, we want to ensure we address them effectively and learn from the feedback for continuous improvement.
To facilitate this, ESF has developed an online Complaints Management System (CMS), which includes an online Complaint Form for parents to submit concerns that need this level of attention. However, we strongly encourage parents to reach out to us directly first, whether through email, phone, or face-to-face conversations. These direct communications are essential for maintaining meaningful engagement and often lead to quicker resolutions.
You can find the new CMS as part of the updated ESF Complaints Policy, which is accessible via the ESF App. Thank you for your cooperation and support!
