Dear Hillside Families,

It is wonderful to feel the excitement in the air as we approach our final events of the school year. We are very much looking forward to celebrating with you and your children.

I have had the pleasure of watching some of the K2 rehearsals and seeing the beautiful art being prepared for the K1 Open Day. It is a true joy to see the children so proud to share their achievements with you. Thank you for taking the time to support these special events; your presence means a great deal to the children and our teachers.

Please see the reminders below.We hope your children have a memorable last few weeks of school, filled with joy and laughter.

We are taking steps to be more sustainable. We invite you to donate and purchase good-quality, preloved school uniforms. All money raised will be used to fund special activities for the children at school.

• To Donate: Please send clean, preloved uniform items to school anytime from now. K2 families can also bring donations during the Celebration of Learning.
• To Buy: K1 families can visit the self-served kiosk at Hillside from 23-26 June.

As we prepare for the new school year and our new IT system, we need to update the ESF App. This means all users will be logged out over the summer.

Please download your child’s school reports and any photos from the class albums before 31 July 2025.

Your child’s end-of-year report will be available soon, and we will send a reminder when it is ready. When you read the report, we invite you to add a comment in the "parent response to learning" box.

We are delighted to invite parents to join our K1 End-of-Year Celebration of Learning - Art Day, which will be held on 19 June at Hillside for all K1 classes. Please take note of the following details:

• This is not a normal full-session school day. Children and parents will only attend during their chosen time slot. 
• Families are invited for a 1-hour session. You will now receive a separate app message to sign up.
• We invite up to 2 grown-ups to accompany their child to Art Day.
• There will be no bus service on that day, and we ask for your understanding and assistance on this exceptional occasion.

To help you get the most out of your visit, you can take a look at the floor plan showing where the activities will take place, as well as detailed information about each activity. 

The children have fully immersed themselves in the unit, How We Express Ourselves, trying new experiences, learning new skills, and we are proud of all that they have accomplished. We look forward to the children sharing their learning with you on this special day!

We are thrilled to invite parents to join our K2 End-of-Year Celebration of Learning on Friday, 20 June, at Hillside for all classes. The children have learnt new skills, made new friends, and grown in so many ways, and we are proud of all they have accomplished. We look forward to celebrating with you and your child on this special day!

Please note the following details:

• To minimise the interruption to our regular programme, the celebration ceremonies will take place on Friday, 20 June, for all classes.
• This is not a normal full-session school day, so please note your time slot below.
• The event will take place in two of the K2 classrooms.
• Children should wear the Hillside uniform for this event.
• Due to space and seating limitations, we kindly ask that each child be accompanied by only two adult family members.
• Please be reminded that we are unable to provide parking.
• We appreciate your understanding that your child cannot catch the school bus for one of the journeys (to OR from school) on this exceptional occasion.

It is important to note that children and parents will only attend during their allocated celebration time. Please note your session below.

To celebrate the end of the school year, we are bringing back a favourite event: Water Fun Day! We will have lots of fun water activities in our outdoor area for children to splash and play. There will also be indoor activities for those who prefer to stay dry.

What to Bring and Wear:

• Please have your child come to school already wearing their swimming costume.
• Apply waterproof sunscreen and mosquito repellent at home.
• Pack a towel, a change of dry clothes, and a plastic bag for wet items.
• Children should wear water shoes or trainers (no socks, please).
• You can also pack goggles and a small water toy/soaker (no buckets).
• Please do not send children with jewellery or fancy hair accessories.
• Most importantly, please label everything clearly!

Please do not buy new water toys or soakers if you don’t have them at home, we have some at school.
