Dear Hillside Families
We are happy to report that we are back to business for tomorrow. We have cleared all the flood water and repaired the burst pipe. There are still some outstanding repair works, but all manageable for us to reopen tomorrow.
Sorry again for any inconvenience caused by this unforeseen situation.
Thank you for your cooperation and kind understanding.
Kind regards
Audrey

Dear Hillside Families
It has been an unexpected morning. Our staff arrived at Hillside and found heavy flooding and leaking in various parts of the school due to a high pressure pipe bursting in the toilets.
The flooding is mainly on 1/F & G/F, and emergency repairs are underway. We are currently checking on the impact on our plumbing, ventilation and electricity systems, and a cleaning company is on the way to help us remove all the excess water.
Unfortunately, due to health and safety concerns, we will have to suspend all classes for today (29 Mar 2023).
We are still in the process of checking the all damages, but teachers will communicate with their classes to share online learning material. It is also important to note that this is optional, depending on your home situation.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this unforeseen situation. We will be in touch again later today with a further update.
Thank you for your cooperation and kind understanding.
Kind regards
Audrey

Dear K2 Parents,
Using the outdoors as a classroom provides many teachable moments connected to current learning. With all the benefits, there are also added circumstances to deal with, such as inclement weather. Your child’s safety is our number one priority, and with mist, showers and thunderstorms in the forecast this week, we have decided to postpone the Tai Tam excursion to:
18 Apr Tuesday - Gecko & Dragon class
20 Apr Thursday - Turtle & Tiger class
With this, we will revisit the beach clean-up down the line and let you know if we have new dates.
How are the children getting there?
Same arrangements - we will be taking a private coach to and from Tai Tam within school hours during your child’s class time, so the children can arrive and depart from school as normal, either on the school bus or as a walker. If it rains, the excursion will unfortunately have to be cancelled.
What does my child need to bring?
Same arrangements - children must wear school uniform and trainers. Since we will be outdoors, your child must have applied sunscreen and insect repellent at home before coming to school. Please prepare a hat for your child to wear during the trip.
Can I come?
Same arrangements - seats on the bus are limited and there will be a number of additional staff joining the trip, as such, no additional parental support is required for this particular trip. Teachers will take lots of photos of children on the excursion and will be posting them on the class blog.
How do I give permission for my child to attend?
You will need to fill in a new eNotice through Gateway. You can “Go to Gateway” via the ESF App. From there, you will see a “new eNotice to fill in now”, which is your consent form.
Thank you so much for your understanding and support. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
The K2 Team
